Trip: Reflections of Italy
Tour Operator: Collette/SooHoo and Associates
Date: October 2014
Athens State University’s alumni members traveled up and down Italy on their 10-day tour. They stopped in Rome, Assisi, Perugia, Siena, Florence, Chianti and Venice’s Murano Island. After two nights in Venice, they wrapped up their trip by crossing the Italian border to explore the Swiss town of Lugano.
“The travelers reveled in the magic of Italy on this trip. They traveled the Tuscan and Umbrian countryside, exploring medieval hill towns and visiting the birthplace of St. Francis of Assisi. They discovered the masterpieces of the Renaissance in Florence and witnessed hot glass transformed into exquisite art on Murano Island.”

Damascus Community Bank
Damascus, Maryland
Trip: Australia and New Zealand
Tour Operator: Collette
Date: March 2015
For 21 days, Damascus Community Bank’s Prime Time Club explored Australia in Cairns, Alice Springs, Melbourne and Sydney before discovering New Zealand in Christchurch and Queenstown. The group rode camels, petted koala bears and spent dinnertime with a New Zealand family to take a peek into a local family’s daily life.
“This was an amazing trip that gave you that trip-of-a-lifetime feeling. I loved Australia for the animals and New Zealand for the beautiful landscape. The penguins at Phillip Island were an endearing sight that I will treasure always. We were entertained one evening by a group of Aborigine girls that serenaded us with song and drumming. Learning about their culture was most enlightening. Great memories I will hold in my heart forever.”
