WASHINGTON – The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) released the Top 50 Community Bank Leaders in Social Media and the Top 20 Community Banker Influencers on Twitter. This is the first time ICBA has ranked community bankers on their social media effectiveness.
“Building a brand goes beyond a perceived geographical footprint,” said Chris Lorence, ICBA executive vice president/chief marketing officer. “Consumers now expect fresh content, insight and consistent interaction with brands they are connected to online, and community banks are no exception.”
Nearly 7,000 U.S. community banks were elegible. ICBA choose the winners based on engagement with fans and followers, the content distributed on their social media platforms, the number of fans or followers they have and the frequency of posting new content.
