Travel Alliance Partners (TAP) presented its Spirit of TAP award to Todd Stallbaumer, consumer and trade marketing director for the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department, during the annual TAP Dance convention held this year in Norfolk, Virginia.

Stallbaumer was nominated by several TAP partners for his outstanding leadership in the tourism industry and his reputation for going beyond the call of duty to assist tour operators and Oklahoma tourism and hospitality organizations.

“Todd is being recognized for his contagious enthusiasm, not only for TAP, but his destination, region and the entire tourism industry,” said TAP president Sandi Pufahl, owner of Fancy-Free Holidays. “He has a great personality and works well with other delegates and operators in assisting with the development of creative tour packages. He is a leader and not a follower.”

The Spirit of TAP Award was established in 2012 after the passing of TAP partner Ann Thomas of Western Discovery. The award recognizes a top travel industry supplier who exemplifies the vision and spirit of the organization and who takes initiative to help others.

Jim Coggin of the Virginia Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau, who won the award in 2012, introduced Thomas’ daughter Tracy Gruber, who presented the award to Stallbaumer.

The 2014 TAP Dance will take place June 1-5 in Reno, Nevada.
