We asked Select Traveler planners, “What’s a theater experience your group has enjoyed?”

A favorite theater with our group is Stages St. Louis. It is located in the St. Louis suburb of Kirkwood. The theater is a small and intimate setting with 11 rows of seating and not a bad seat to be found.
We are going there in May to see “Smokey Joe’s Café.” Last year we saw “How to Succeed in Business…Without Really Trying,” and it was a hoot.

I enjoy all theater experiences because they always sell out. My personal favorite is “The Lion King.” The special effects are amazing. I’m always confident when I book any Disney production that it’s going to be top of the line.

In 2013, we went to China and saw the “ERA” acrobatics show in Shanghai. It was an amazing experience. The show tells of a fascinating story with a journey to the past, present and future.
It featured the gamut of traditional and contemporary Chinese acrobatics, from aerial walking, bowl balancing and trampoline shows to high-flying trapeze acts and motorcycle cage stunts.

My group really enjoys all of our theater experiences. We have seen plays in London and New York City and other larger venues. We also do six to eight one-day trips each year to smaller theaters. Theater is always a unique experience to add to any tour.

“Wicked” at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis was one of our favorite shows. We had women from ages 24 to 84 on this trip, and everyone loved the production so much. They all enjoyed visiting with so many various women for the evening.
