The Group Travel Leader Small Market Meetings Going on Faith

Planners Talk Back: July August 2015

Select Traveler asked these group leaders “What is an adventurous trip or  activity you’d like to try with your group?” Here are their responses.

Marlene Shirley

Executive Assistant, Shawnee Chamber of Commerce

Shawnee, Kansas

Since Cuba is now open for travel, we think that would be a trip of a lifetime. Many never thought they would ever have the opportunity to travel to Cuba. We look forward to giving that chance to the people of our community.

Jane Pugh

FirstPartners, FirstDakota National Bank

Yankton, South Dakota

At First Dakota, we have dropped the age requirement for our FirstPartners account holders, and anyone can travel with us. By doing this, I feel it is important to offer tours that are attractive to different age groups, like soft adventure, biking in Europe or all-inclusive resorts.

Sally Daniels Herron

Director of Family and Constituent Relations Augsburg College

Minneapolis

Since our alumni group has only traveled internationally, I am so excited to try a domestic trip. I think our alumni and parents would love to do anything that would have a history focus, such as something related to the Civil War. One of the national parks also sounds like something that would be particularly attractive to them.

Karen Geersen

Karen’s Kruisers, Travel Agent

Clarksville, Tennessee

I would love to try and take my group to India. What a beautiful country! I do not think people realize how the Indian people live and work.

Kathryn Hoyt

Planner and Producer, Christian Chamber of Commerce Tampa Bay

Lecanto, Florida

I am planning a Danube River Cruise in late 2015. Mayflower Tours is helping with the details. We may even try the Rhine River Cruise around tulip time in 2016. I’m sure it will be an adventure going through Hungary, Austria and Germany, to name only three of the countries. I cannot wait.
