Planners Talk Back: Hot Travel Trends

We asked travel planners, “What’s a hot travel trend with your group?”

Being in Wisconsin where our summers are short, we like to get outside and enjoy the sights. One of the best ways to do that is on a river cruise. We recently enjoyed a fall cruise on the Mississippi River, and we also took a cruise on a U.S. mail boat on Lake Geneva where the entertainment was watching these young employees jump off the boat, deliver mail on residential docks and make it back in time to jump back on.

Give us some good entertainment and/or a good meal on the water, and everyone is happy.

The price of a trip is typically what defines our travel trends. In recent times, the price was right for a five-day stay in Chicago, where we branched out from a beautiful hotel, and also a Pacific Coast tour, where we landed in Seattle, traveled to San Francisco, took a cruise on the bay and flew home.

Single travelers looking for safety traveling in groups and the experience of meeting others has been a trend with our travel program. This is going to influence the type of trips we offer in the future.

Europe is the most popular destination. It’s funny what people say they want to do and what they actually will do. While people answer our surveys suggesting we travel to exotic destinations, Europe is where most of our first-time travelers want to go. And many of our travelers have never left the country prior to traveling with us.
