Morton Community Bank has 35 branches, each with a professional travel center display. Updating the displays in each of those branches requires two days of travel for the Robinsons. A monthly hospitality gathering at 12 to 15 of those locations, featuring speakers, doughnuts and coffee offers this ambitious duo the opportunity to discuss upcoming trips.

“This is a great time for socialization for bank customers,” said Robinson. “But it also gives us a golden opportunity to schmooze.”

“We feel so fortunate with our relationships. Many of our contemporaries have additional responsibilities in the bank, but our jobs are to preview, market and escort trips — it makes our jobs easy. In addition, we have enthusiastic support from our CEOs and management. The level of trust given to us makes us more intent to have them be proud of what we do.

“We are so blessed to have seen places we didn’t even know existed and to have met so many wonderful people. About four years ago, we attended a 50th wedding anniversary event where a couple in our club renewed their vows. When we arrived, we realized we were the only ones there who were not family.

“Believe me, that kind of joy is better than any paycheck.”
