We are taking a 12-day trip in the fall to Italy. It’s a grand tour, from Florence, Venice, Pisa and Rome to Naples, Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. The trip will end on the Isle of Capri. The trip sold out a year in advance.
I’m especially looking forward to seeing Venice as I’ve heard so much about this legendary destination. As a food connoisseur, I’m really looking forward to our culinary experiences in Italy. The wine there is cheaper than soda — I’ll be in heaven!

After advertising with just a teaser in our flyer, we sold out a 13-day trip to Maine in the fall, and there are people on the waiting list.
Donna Hanson with Maine Tour Connection will be taking us to Arcadia National Park, Kennebunkport, Bar Harbor, on a train ride through the White Mountains and “moosing” at a lake at Rangeley Inn, a country inn in the western mountain region.
As we are motorcoaching, we’ll be stopping at many places, like Corning Glass and Hershey, coming and going.

To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, which is a really big deal here on the South Shore of Chicago, we’re having a local performing artist come in and give us his spin on Irish folklore. This guy is a television and radio personality, and he’s so animated. The entire experience, which includes lunch at a local pub, is titled “Leprechauns Are Real!”

While the weather is still cold here, we’ll be on an eight-day trip in Hawaii that includes a Norwegian cruise around all of the islands. There are many great sites on this adventure, but I’m really looking forward to visiting the Polynesian Cultural Center and the Kualoa botanical gardens, both on the island of Oahu.

We’re going to New York City for five days at the end of May. We’re staying in Times Square, eating at famed restaurants and taking a narrated tour of Manhattan. We’ll spend time at the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Ground Zero and NBC studios. Of course, we’ll be seeing a couple of Broadway shows.
New York City — isn’t that the most exciting place in the world?

It’s taken me 10 years to get to a place I want to see so badly — France. We’ll be spending 13 days there in September, including an extra day in Paris. We will see Omaha and Normandy beaches, spend time in the wine country, have a dinner cruise on the Seine River and enjoy the French Riviera and Monte Carlo.
Does anyone know if their famed pastries have calories? I think I better start a weight-loss program right now.
