Baton Rouge: Bring something back!
Perkins Rowe
Those attending the 2011 BankTravel Conference will have plenty of opportunities for a shopping spree at the city’s Mall of Louisiana and Perkins Rowe. Many groups touring the area often visit one or the other location to snag some shopping deals or buy the perfect souvenir for those back home.
At the 1.6 million-square-foot Mall of Louisiana, the two-level regional mall includes an outdoor lifestyle center, restaurants and more than 175 retail stores, from upscale to affordable.
“There are so many different types of shops here,” said Whitney Breaux, communications specialist for Visit Baton Rouge. “The outlet part of the mall has a pedestrian street with a sidewalk cafe, clothing stores and other odds and ends.”
Similarly at Perkins Rowe, shoppers can stroll down a street with palm trees and large windows highlighting the goodies inside. Restaurants, an art gallery, clothing stores, bookstores and boutiques give a wide variety of shopping options. Both nationally known and local products line the store walls of this shopping center.
