American Cruise Lines announces new Puget Sound Cruises

GUILFORD, Conn. – A new cruise from American Cruise Lines takes passengers on a roundtrip cruise from Seattle through the Puget Sound to the San Juan Islands. American Cruise Lines will offer this incredibly scenic cruise as a new 2013 itinerary.

The Puget Sound and San Juan Islands Cruise is the cruise line’s newest Pacific Northwest itinerary, which also includes Alaska’s Inside Passage and the Columbia and Snake Rivers. Guests will board the 100-passenger American Spirit for the inaugural cruise on April 6, 2013.

“It is with great pleasure and anticipation that we announce these new Puget Sound and San Juan Islands cruises,” said Timothy Beebe, vice president of American Cruise Lines. “We take pride in offering passengers the best small ship cruising experience on the most unique itineraries, a winning combination that has continued to bring our passengers back time and again.”

Aboard this route, groups can spy wildlife, historic ports and up close views of coastal beauty. Ports of call include Seattle, Anacortes, Friday Harbor, Port Townsend and Poulsbo. Like other American Cruise Lines ships, the American Spirit contains many modern amenities like larger staterooms, private balconies, elevators and locally inspired cuisine.

“Following the terrific response to our Alaska and Columbia and Snake River itineraries, Puget Sound was a natural next step,” said Beebe. “Our further expansion into the Pacific Northwest adds even more variety to the unique, yet close to home cruises we offer. We look forward to welcoming new and past guests aboard to discover this beautiful region of the West Coast.”
