First State Bank
Mendota, Illinois
trip: Nova Scotia and New Brunswick
tour operator: Premier World Discovery
date: July 2014
First State Bank’s Vista Club experienced the beauty and culture of eastern Canada on their nine-day whirlwind trip. The group toured numerous spots across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, including Halifax, Peggy’s Cove, Prince Edward Island, the Bay of Fundy and many others.
“We loved the tiny fishing village of Peggy’s Cove with its famous lighthouse. We also really enjoyed eating fresh scallops that melted in your mouth in Digby, walking on the floor of the ocean when the tide was out at the Hopewell Rocks and the spectacular views of the Atlantic along the coastal drive of Cabot Trail. Most of all, we found a visit to a local farm fascinating. The farm is where Jeff Wood, his wife, Carey, and their daughter Olivia are seeking new innovations with hydroponics and working on the Internet for marketing.”

First National Bank
Fayetteville, Tennessee
trip: Grand New England Tour
tour operator: The RH Factor
date: September 2014
The First National Bank sent Heritage Club members on a nine-day tour of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. The trip focused on the Maine’s coast, New Hampshire’s White Mountains and the Quechee Gorge in Vermont.
“Without a doubt, the highlight was the fall foliage. We were blessed enough to enjoy peak color throughout our entire tour. And the group was positively dazzled by clear, sunny weather atop Mt. Washington, which we were told is almost unheard of. Suffice it to say, we wore out plenty of camera batteries! Another hit with our group was the food. If there was any lobster left in Maine after we departed, it’s not because we didn’t consume as much as we could.”
